Born in Michigan, I grew up on a farm the youngest of four siblings. During my younger years I raised Shorthorn beef cattle where I won various local and state ribbons for herdsmanship, showmanship, including numerous Grand Champions. In high school I developed a knack for photography and graphics. I later attended college and graduated with a degree in Graphic Arts and pursued a career in photography where I won awards for portrait and wedding photography. Early on, I developed a good work ethic from both of my parents. My father, once retired, started working at his passion of woodworking. I never really thought much about it but would occassionally help him. I was not biten by the bug until I was in my forties, and now you find me in my shop most every weekend.
I am married (over 35 yrs) to my wife Brenda and we have two daughters, one living here in Visalia the other in Austin, TX and have one grandson 10 1/2 Austin Tyler and a new granddaughter Olivia Grace born 9/8/09. My other hobby is pictured here on this page.

I am currently a freelance semi-professional, working from my shop (The Coyote Woodshop) in Visalia, CA. I enjoy meeting other professionals and following the latest trends. I enjoy attending conferences and symposiums, as well as adding more books to my woodworking library. I am currently the secretary for the Sequoia Woodturners and a member of the San Joaquin Fine Woodworkers. I am always open to new projects. No job is too big or too small.
